New Look 6160 and others

Description: an easy straight leg pant with elastic back and tie front, to be worn about 1″ below the waist.

Sizing & fabric used: I cut out a size 12

When finished did it look like the picture on the pattern envelope? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, though I don’t use them.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The pattern is super simple (only two pattern pieces) and the pants are a very comfortable casual style for spring / summer.

Fabric Used: Light weight black linen I bought at an op shop for $1.50/metre.

Pattern alterations or any design changes made: I took the side seams in 1/2″ each and lengthened the leg at the hem by about 1″.

Would you sew it again or recommend it to others? Yes and yes.

Conclusion:  I have made these pants a bunch of times and it is a great basic easy one for summer, PJs, whatever.

I’ll add a photo of me in them here soon.

Other sewing completed:

Burda 9614 for the kiddos in lovely soft orangey red merino but as a skivvy.  This’ll keep them warm at kindy.  This is a very slim fit pattern so I cut a size up else they can’t comfortably get it over their heads.

Burda 9826 for the kiddos in acrylic/cotton knit, pink of course.
